About the Role:
The Technical Inventory Officer (TIO) plays a vital role in controlling and managing the entire lifecycle of digital technology inventory. This position is responsible for ensuring that all equipment's warranty and support periods are maximised, and that accurate, real-time data is maintained within the Service Management tool's CMDB. You will be instrumental in providing insights that drive strategic decisions for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Manage the end-to-end process of receiving and dispatching digital technology goods.
- Stock Control: Accurately track and maintain stock levels and inventory, ensuring efficient flow and optimal availability.
- CMDB Recording: Meticulously record all inventory movements (in and out) within the Service Management tool’s CMDB, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Warranty & Support Maximisation: Proactively monitor and manage equipment warranties and support periods to maximise their value and operational lifespan.
- Analysis & Coordination: Analyse, develop, and coordinate all assigned tasks related to inventory control, identifying areas for improvement.
- Reporting & Recommendations: Generate regular reports to track stock, identify inventory gaps, and provide actionable recommendations to DTS to maximise value to the business.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in an inventory management role, ideally within a technical or digital technology environment.
- Demonstrable experience with Service Management tools and CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful reports.
- Proactive approach to identifying and solving inventory-related challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of digital technology hardware and software components.
