Currently, we are on the hunt for an experienced system administrator who will work as part of a team responsible for the continued effective and efficient operation of the computing infrastructure. This position is responsible for:
- System administration and operations;
- Monitoring ongoing performance to ensure reliable operation;
- Improvements and upgrades to maintain technology currency and meet business needs;
- Integrating new systems into the technology environment;
Support on premise and hosting services;
- At least 5 years’ experience in a System Administrator role at a medium to large sized organisation;
- Tertiary degree in an Information Technology related discipline;
- Good knowledge of IT network, systems, application technologies and IT security;
- Advanced technical knowledge of Windows and Windows networking technologies: Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft Windows Server; Microsoft Windows desktop operation systems; DNS, DHCP;
- Advanced technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Microsoft Exchange; ADFS; Cisco Unified Messaging; Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop; VMware; SQL databases and database administration; CommVault Simpana; Microsoft Sharepoint; Microsoft SCCM; Windows desktop operating system management and group policy; Server application hosting; Internet hosted services;
- Knowledge of Windows 10, SOE design and Mobile Device Management;
- Strong problem analysis and solving skills;
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively with organisation, including non-technical stakeholders;
- Demonstrated understanding of IT industry frameworks including Project Management (PRINCE2) and Service Management (ITIL);
- ITIL V3 Foundation certification;
- Experience across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle SDLC;
- Experience in service management methods namely Incident, Request, Problem and Change Management processes;
- Ability to gain respect through credibility, reputation and technical expertise;
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently, as well as be part of a team;
