The start of 2017 has seen immense growth in the IT Market. Milestone IT has seen a huge demand for developers specifically IOT developers, Mobile App, JavaScript, Ruby and UX/UI. Here is a look at why these roles are in such huge demand.

IOT Developers

Having a background in Computer Science and Electrical Engineer is an advantage this year when searching for IOT (Internet Of Things) roles. As the Internet grows, so does the need for infrastructure to support the growth. There will be a need for Systems Engineers, Cloud Programmers and Hardware Device Programmer. The key responsibilities for IOT developers will be assembling physical hardware, programming the devices, programming the server that will receive and store the data from the device and displaying data to the device user.

Mobile App Developers

Mobile application developers will fill the demands of the ever growing app market. Similar to 2016, the areas of growth within the mobile tech space will continue to be VR, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, cashless/card less tech and mobile cloud storage. Cashless/Cardless technology options means M Commerce will be predicted to emerge as one of the highest IT growths in 2017. As M Commerce and mobile cloud applications grow so will the requirement for extra attention in terms of security for the devices. Meaning there will be a need for more mobile security developers. Another area of mobile technology that will gain momentum is transmitting beacons and location based services. The devices are designed to send marketing material to consumers via a location beacon, which will then send consumers marketing notifications to their mobile devices. Each notification is tailored to what the consumer has recently searched and their current location.

JavaScript Developers

JavaScript is going from strength to strength in the development world. This mostly due to its vibrant ecosystem of frameworks, technologies and libraries. JavaScript has firmly asserted its place in the iOS and Android apps development area; with JavaScript server side code commonly used in enterprise-level backend development. As IOT grows so does the need for such languages as Node.js. The popularity of Node.js has increased due to it being data-intensive, real-time devices and applications. Which is why recently there has been a large adoption of the language for business application development within large scale enterprises.

Ruby Developers

If you’re a Full Stack Developer you will understand the importance of Ruby on Rails. The current demand for Ruby is as popular as it was back in 2004. One of the main reasons for its popularity is the fact that the program is free. Some of the other advantageous features of Ruby on Rails is it also has the following: flexibility, accelerated web process, efficient content management and customisation. In 2016 more than 1.2 million websites have been created using Ruby in Rails: companies such as Airbnb, GitHub, Hulu, Groupon and Kickstarters are currently using Ruby for their websites.

UX/UI Developers

One of the most important roles in 2017 in terms of development is the need UX/UI Developers. As more businesses move over to online platforms (developing applications and software). As there is more competition to stand out in the current market in terms of creating a unique website/application/software and also most importantly a smooth experience for the user. A UX/UI developer has the main responsibility to take user stories that are written by product owners and convert it into a user interface. The final design given to the developer must be in a deliverable form, which will then be turned into functioning website, software or application.

It‘s incredibly important that the UX/UI developer gets the design right to start with, as any issues which arise during development or after (due to poor UX/UI design) can be incredibly costly to the business further down the line. This is why it is important for the design to be thoroughly tested prior to development.
